A-P Lumbar

Timestamp: 50:00 – 53:38

  1. Have patient stand in front of buckey, facing camera with toes pointed in straight.
  2. Aim central ray 3 finger widths below top of Iliac crest and move center of film to CR.
  3. Collimate to edges of film.
  4. Take picture.

 

A-P Thoracic:

Timestamp: 53:38 – 54:20

  1. Do not move patient from A-P Lumbar position.
  2. Position CR so that bottom edge of film overlaps where the top of the A-P Lumbar picture was by about 1-2”.
  3. Position buckey so that CR is at center of film.
  4. Collimate to edges of film.
  5. Take Picture

 

 

Lateral Lumbar:

Timestamp: 54:20 – 55:25

  1. Have patient stand and face sideways with arms up in prayer position and left shoulder against buckey.
  2. Aim CR at the top of Iliac crest. Patient may have to move forward to be centered.
  3. Move buckey so center of film is at level of CR.
  4. Collimate to edges of film.
  5. Take Picture.

 

Lateral Thoracic:

Timestamp: 55:25 – 55:59

  1. Do not move patient from lateral lumbar standing position.
  2. Move buckey up so there is 1-2” overlap from previous film
  3. Move CR to match new buckey position.
  4. Collimate to the edge of the film.
  5. Take Picture.
