Lateral Cervical

Lateral Cervical

S-Line Tool:

This tool helps determine the S-Factor/S-Line in order to take the Nasium.

  • Determine S-line. Mark inferior aspect of posterior arch starting at the posterior aspect of the lateral mass and measure 1/4” P-A along the arch. Connect the points and see if it represents Atlas and note the facial feature the line goes through.

Cervical Curve Tool:

This tool helps determine the standard cervical curve for a patient.

  • Draw the Normal Cervical Curve line using the “cervical curve tool”. Select the superior and posterior aspect of C2 Vertebral body. Then select the C7 posterior inferior aspect of the vertebral body. Then select a point in front of the neck to set the arc comparison line.
  • Label the film with the s-line and the measurements that the angle of the tube was set at when the specific films were taken. Ex: S-1 N = 15

George’s Line:

This tool helps determine where the patients cervical curvature lies. We use this compared to the cervical curve tool to measure where they are to where they should be.

  • Mark the superior and inferior posterior aspects of the vertebral bodies of C2, C3, C4, C5, C6, C7 to create Geroge’s Line.
