Vertex

VSP TOOL:

This tool is used to trace the line of rafe and center point of dens.

  • Select the VSP tool with the Vertex film open.
  • Select the following points:
  • Left most lateral and inferior of dens
  • Right most lateral and inferior of dens
  • Left most anterior superior of C2 neural canal
  • Right most anterior superior of C2 neural canal
  • This Finds C2 bifurcation and center of Dens.
  • Move two points at the top of the film of VSP line and find most lateral aspect and similar points on both sides of the base of the nasal septum. This creates the center of skull line. Mark near the rounding of the nasal area. Line should pass through the center of the skull and line of Raphe on the hard palate.

VFL Tool:

This tool is used to trace the bifurcation of atlas via the transverse foramen of C1.

  • Select Left anterior transverse foramen of Atlas
  • Left posterior transverse foramen
  • Left lateral aspect of transverse foramen
  • Left medial aspect of transverse foramen
  • Right anterior transverse foramen of Atlas
  • Right posterior transverse foramen
  • Right lateral aspect of transverse foramen
  • Right medial aspect of transverse foramen
  • This creates the Atlas line.

CalV Tool:

This tool is used to calculate the rotation of Atlas. The measurement is used in gathering the listing for the patient.

  • Click the screen once. This will bring up a box on the film.
  • Move onto the Nasium analysis. You will come back to this later.
