Class 4 Cold Laser Therapy in Milton, Georgia, with the M6 robotic MLS laser—personalized care for muscle and joint discomfort, serving Alpharetta and Roswell.
At Alpha Spine Center, NUCCA Upper Cervical Chiropractic is the foundation of our practice. Our NUCCA doctors also provide Sports Chiropractic and extremity care, with Class 4 Cold Laser Therapy available when your examination shows it is appropriate.
We use the M6 robotic MLS laser to deliver infrared light to selected treatment areas. MLS stands for Multiwave Locked System. Its robotic head scans a defined area, while a handheld applicator allows more focused treatment.
Laser therapy may be part of a plan for temporary relief of muscle and joint pain, stiffness, arthritis pain, or muscle spasm. We explain its purpose, monitor your response, and help you find another provider when your needs call for specialist care.
Neck pain and stiffness can affect turning your head, desk work, and sleep. Our doctors assess your symptoms and movement to decide whether laser therapy belongs in your care plan alongside NUCCA.
Back discomfort and muscle tightness can interrupt work and everyday movement. We evaluate the source of your symptoms and consider laser therapy for suitable muscle and joint concerns.
Reaching, lifting, or throwing can become uncomfortable with shoulder pain. Following an examination, laser therapy may be considered as an adjunct to care for selected shoulder symptoms.
Gripping, lifting, and racquet sports place demands on the elbow. We assess concerns such as tennis elbow and golfer’s elbow and discuss whether laser therapy is suitable within your individualized plan.
Wrist and hand discomfort can affect typing, gripping, and holding a paddle. Care may include laser therapy for selected symptoms, including arthritis-related pain and stiffness, with referrals when needed.
Hip pain or stiffness can make walking and stairs difficult. We evaluate the hip and surrounding structures before recommending care, including whether laser therapy is appropriate for your symptoms.
Knee discomfort can interrupt stairs, exercise, and skiing. Your findings guide suitable care for pain and stiffness, including arthritis-related symptoms. Laser therapy does not repair a torn ligament or replace needed specialist care.
Ankle and foot symptoms, including heel pain and plantar fascia concerns, can change how you walk. We assess your condition before considering laser therapy and coordinate podiatry or other referrals when indicated.
Our M6 uses synchronized 808 nm and 905 nm infrared light, delivered through a robotic head or handheld applicator. Your doctor selects the treatment area and settings according to your findings.
Mitochondria help cells produce ATP (adenosine triphosphate), which supplies energy for many cellular activities. Photobiomodulation research explores how red and near-infrared light influences this system.
One proposed mechanism involves cytochrome c oxidase, an enzyme in the mitochondrial respiratory chain. Under certain experimental conditions, light exposure can increase ATP production and affect cellular signaling. Responses depend on the tissue and treatment parameters.
Think of this as supporting the energy machinery of stressed cells. The biological response varies, and cellular effects alone cannot predict your symptom relief. We assess your progress through comfort, movement, and function.
You may not notice a change immediately. Your doctor reviews progress over time and adjusts the plan when needed.

At Alpha Spine Center, light is a symbol of vitality, hope, and the life you want to enjoy. Laser therapy brings therapeutic light into our care. Our purpose is to help you move toward the activities and relationships that give your life meaning.

Laser therapy may be recommended for selected muscle and joint symptoms after an evaluation. Goals can include temporary relief of pain and stiffness, comfort with arthritis-related symptoms, or relief of muscle spasm.
The MLS family’s FDA-cleared indications also include a temporary increase in local blood circulation and muscle relaxation. Clearance describes intended uses; it does not mean every diagnosis or individual outcome is proven.
Our focus is practical: how you feel, how you move, and whether you can manage the activities that matter to you. Your response helps us decide whether to continue, adjust, or reconsider care.
We do not promise that laser therapy will regenerate cartilage, repair a torn tendon or ligament, or eliminate the need for medical treatment. When additional evaluation is needed, we help coordinate it.
Before treatment. We review your symptoms, health history, diagnosis, and treatment goals. Tell us about medications, pregnancy, cancer history, skin concerns, or other health changes so we can assess suitability.
During your session. You will be positioned comfortably with the treatment area accessible. Appropriate laser safety eyewear is used. We select the settings and position the robotic head or handheld applicator for your treatment.
Your experience matters. Let us know immediately if you feel discomfort or anything unexpected. Session time depends on the area and prescribed treatment; we explain what to expect before beginning.
Our icing instructions follow the guidance provided to Alpha Spine Center during Cutting Edge’s M6 laser training. Your doctor may recommend icing before your session and will explain whether, when, and how to ice.
Do not apply ice to the treated area for at least 8 hours after laser therapy, unless your treating doctor gives you different instructions. Follow this timing as part of ASC’s laser aftercare protocol. Ask us how to coordinate icing with your laser and rehabilitation schedule.
Afterward. Follow your doctor’s activity and exercise guidance. Report new or worsening symptoms. We track your response over time rather than relying only on how you feel immediately after a session.
Your doctor recommends a schedule based on your condition, examination, symptoms, and response to care. There is no single number of sessions that is right for everyone.
Some patients notice a change early; others do not experience symptom relief right away. A recommended course of care may involve several treatments and reassessment over time. Improvement is not guaranteed, and a lack of immediate relief does not tell us by itself whether treatment will help.
The frequency of visits, length of treatment, and time needed for recovery differ by patient and condition. Your diagnosis, how long symptoms have been present, overall health, activity demands, and response to care help guide the plan.
Consistency and communication matter. Keep prescribed appointments and follow your activity guidance. Tell us if you are not improving or if symptoms change. We assess movement and activity tolerance as well as pain, and review whether to continue, adjust, stop treatment, or arrange further evaluation.
How many visits will I need?
Your doctor recommends and reviews a schedule based on your findings and response. Results and treatment needs vary.
Does laser therapy replace NUCCA or rehabilitation?
When appropriate, it complements your care. Follow your doctor’s exercise and activity recommendations.

Evaluate. We begin with your concerns and the activities you want to return to. Our NUCCA doctors also evaluate muscle, joint, and extremity problems to determine which care is appropriate.
Personalize. Laser therapy may complement NUCCA care, Sports Chiropractic Adjustments, Extremity Care, Exercise Therapy, or Cryotherapy. We explain why each recommendation is included. We do not provide surgery, drugs, or injections.
Reassess. Your comfort, movement, function, and response guide our next steps. Treatment should be reviewed when symptoms persist or your needs change.
Coordinate. If another provider’s expertise is needed, we help you find an appropriate specialist and coordinate care. Laser therapy is not a substitute for evaluating a significant injury or a new unexplained symptom.
Technology serves the plan. Your goals guide the care.

“Work to Play” reflects how our family lives. Fitness and preparation help us enjoy skiing, mountain biking, hiking, pickleball, and time with the people we love. We understand how frustrating it can be when pain interrupts your favorite activity.
Skiing asks your knees to bend and maintain control. Tennis places repeated demands on your elbows. Throwing a ball requires coordinated shoulder movement. Holding a pickleball paddle depends on comfortable wrist and hand movement and a steady grip.
When laser therapy is appropriate, it may be one part of a plan focused on your symptoms and activity goals. Comfortable movement is valuable, but returning to sport also depends on strength, control, endurance, and readiness.
The right exercise at the right time matters. Follow the rehabilitation regimen your doctor recommends for your diagnosed condition. We guide when to begin, which exercises to perform, and how to progress.
Starting too soon or increasing activity before you are ready may aggravate symptoms. Do not use temporary pain relief as permission to push beyond your plan. Tell us about new or worsening pain so we can reassess.
We want to help you move toward the activities and relationships that make your life meaningful.
