Full-Spines (APTL)

AP Pelvis and AP Thoracic are to be stacked on top of each other.  This is accomplished by lining up identical structures and overlapping films.  Mark line at film edge to assist in placement of film on view box. 

Fullspine AP-TL Stitching Tool:  

  • Select the stitching tool. 
  • Drag AP Thoracic into the top box 
  • Drag AP Lumbar into the bottom box 
  • Select Manual Focus 
  • Using the Image moving tool, line up the pedicles of the matching vertebrae. 
  • Look at Ribs to help find level. 
  • Select Stitch and save as AP-TL 
  • Open AP-TL 
  • Using centering tool find center of femur heads.  
  • Place a line at the top of each iliac crest to represent if the pelvis is unlevel  
  • Using the angle tool select the center X at the center of the femur heads, then slect the center of T1 spinous and then select the vertical line at the T1 leve. Place the angle at the top of the film.  
  • Measure scoliosis and curves using pedicles or vertebral endplates. (Note: if a post AP-TL, mark like points apple to apples.)  
  • Place curve measurement on side where spine curves.
